Yeah, well, I don't want to tell us a little bit more about, kind of like, your journey. We were just kind of chatting pre-show, love, the Sound of the Sheesh. It all kind of started for you pandemic, and now you have how many? That was a lot of followers. I saw Shondon 500,000 I think in climbing.

Speaker 1:

I feel like when I first started following you, it was like less. I've been following you for a long time and it's been really nice seeing you kind of ascend to this, like I don't know, mecca of cannabis content creating, in my opinion.

Speaker 3:

It's been a hectic journey, to say the least.

Speaker 2:

I agree.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, I guess how it all started. Yeah, it was pandemic. Literally, I had extra time on my hands.

Speaker 2:

OK.

Speaker 3:

TikTok was blowing up. Shoreform content was blowing up. Anyone with a phone was filming themselves doing whatever.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 3:

And I was like I'm going to film myself making weed edibles at home. I love it and that's really how it started. And it wasn't really until a year after doing it randomly, where I was like, oh, I actually want to take this seriously. The moment that actually that I thought of that was when I had a viral video on TikTok.

Speaker 1:

OK.

Speaker 3:

Literally. It was 20 million views overnight and it was me using a cannabis infusion device to make a brownie cake thing. It was janky, I actually. It's a very controversial video because I did something that was very taboo. Ok, I took weed from a joint, I broke the joint and then I poured the weed into the infusion machine. Ok, so people got triggered by that. They're like what the fuck? So that, I think, caused a lot of that virality.

Speaker 1:

The conflict.

Speaker 2:

The conflict of that yeah.

Speaker 1:

Because, you know how content now is like people like.

Speaker 3:

I feel ways about it where you have to post controversial stuff to get views, whatever. But I had no intent of getting views. I was just me being my innocent self in my kitchen making a cannabis edible.

Speaker 1:

You were in the moment. You didn't even think about that. I was in the moment.

Speaker 3:

It was such a bad video, like if I go rewatching now it actually makes me cringe at how bad it was.

Speaker 1:

Like it's just terrible, but you can't take it down now. No, I can't. It's like yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

So that's really how it started and as I started immersing myself more in the industry, meeting people, and I realized this is my passion and I feel there is a purpose for me to be an educator in this space, to provide a different lens on cannabis through my platform.

Speaker 2:

What was the recipe? Just sorry, I might have missed that it was literally like a janky brownie cannabis cake.

Speaker 3:

It wasn't. Even I wasn't a brownie, it wasn't a cake, it was a brookie, A brookie. Ok, a brookie Cake Crownie.

Speaker 1:

I love it. Hey, man, you got to start somewhere, so like whatever, and it worked. Was it a Lenovo machine? Is that? I know that you do a lot of work with them.

Speaker 3:

It was an ardent FX machine. It's like a competitor product. It's like the purple device.

Speaker 1:

Got it, I think I remember.

Speaker 3:

OK, amazing, oh, that's good Creamsicle. It is really good Creamsicle. Yeah, not too sweet, though, right yeah?

Speaker 1:

I felt like it was sweet, but not like because I think it has sugar in it. Don't get me wrong. But I think it's regular fruit juice and not like that corn syrup-y, like sickly sweet stick on your tongue.

Speaker 3:

It doesn't leave that nasty taste on your tongue, right yeah, which is important On your cows, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think it's delicious. I thought it was really good. Do you think you could use that in one of your mocktails? Yeah, you like to like kind of build from scratch. I feel like this is already good on its own. Yeah, you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Like I like to build from scratch, like I feel like this is already a solid by itself, like it doesn't need Maybe I'll put an orange slice to make it fancy A mimosa.

Speaker 1:

A mimosa.

Speaker 3:

Right, yes.

Speaker 1:

A mimosa, there you go. You could definitely kind of make a play on that somewhere in there. I guess I know that. I recently saw that one of your biggest achievements of the past year was working with pizza pizza.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

That's really cool.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

You want to tell us a little more about that, because I guess it's like not a cannabis brand, right? Yeah, does that make it so special for you?

Speaker 3:

Yes, so last year, 2023, pizza Pizza reached out to me to do a 420 collaboration, to promote they had a pizza promo. It was like four small pizzas for $20. Like you know, classic, like Nice Donor thing, yeah, and I think the fact that they reached out, the fact that they were trying to do work with someone who was in cannabis, was already like wow, I mean it makes sense though, right.

Speaker 3:

It really does Like any food item that is associated with stoner culture should be partnering with cannabis period, but it was really nice to just see that non-canabis brands want to work with cannabis people and that was really exciting. It was a really awesome promo and, yeah, that was successful.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was successful. It was really good. Yeah, do you do the brands always choose you or do you choose the brands? I guess I don't really know how this works. I'm new to content creation. I get free stuff once in a while. I'm sponsored by she Switches Fund, but I don't know. I guess I was just curious how that works. Is there ever been anybody? You don't have to name names. Whether you'd be like nah, that doesn't really identify with the cannabis brand necessarily. I think I'm going to pass.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's a bit of both Like. Obviously, I have to pitch myself. I would say in the early days I did a lot of pitching myself, right. Like you know, this is my pitch. This is why you should work with me. This is XYZ, but a lot of it also comes naturally now, which is what I'm getting. A lot now is like a lot of brands are just reaching out directly because they're seeing a lot of content that aligns with what they want to do. But I always make sure that I'm working with brands. That one I use, right, I actually like, I like their values, I like what they're doing, and that there's alignment there, because otherwise it's just it feels fake, right, it's just like off, like yeah, it doesn't feel right.

Speaker 3:

No, it doesn't feel right, it needs to be something that I can actually like seamlessly incorporate into my life, and it's not like just a make a buck, like you know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

You come across really genuine like that, so I wouldn't guess any different, Just just from from me guessing. If I had to guess, I feel like sometimes when I see other influencers on platforms, I can tell right away where I'm like. You don't really use that product. You know what I mean. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

It has to be authentic because, like you know, you can maybe do one or two things that are inauthentic, but like, long term it's it's just, it adds up and it's just like inauthentic to yourself, you know, you just feel awkward, like yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, True to yourself, true to your followers right, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, have you been like experimenting and making recipes, like even before, I guess, legalization, or is this just really kind of taken off?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I definitely did. You know, make janky recipes at home, you know they're typical.

Speaker 2:

Why are they janky?

Speaker 3:

They're janky because there's not. I'm not a. I guess you know, maybe I'm like putting myself down in a weird way, but it's because I'm not a chef. I'm not like trained a baker. I don't, you know, I didn't go to cooking school or anything like that. I'm really just a home infusionist that's what I like to call myself and like I want to make recipes that are, you know, the average person your neighbor can make, because they don't have time on their hands or they want simple ingredients. They only have flour and sugar, or like that's who I'm trying to appeal to. So they're janky, but they're still tasty.

Speaker 2:

I feel you, I feel you. So you know, we're kind of that's quick and easy. Yeah, quick and dirty.

Speaker 1:

I understand. Yeah, but yeah I mean that's why so many people resonate with you, though I mean I'm just glad to say that I mean there's a compliment, obviously, but I think you make it look easy and like anybody could do it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And don't be afraid to you know, infuse your own stuff. But why do you pay all this money for? And you're always talking about added sugar and ingredients you don't want to consume and stuff like that. So I know, I just think you do a really good job with that.

Speaker 3:

I try to make it approachable, right, Because if you make stuff that's like, you can make stuff that's like really complicated, you know, like I don't know like infuse, like flambé or something like that, but like, if it's, if people can't make it at home, they can't relate to you, it's not practical. Yeah, and I'm a very practical person. Like I just want to show people hey, make this banana bread, whip it in a blender. You got a really dope banana bread.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, people love banana bread. It's such an easy one. I love banana bread. Everybody does right, so it makes total sense to me. Could you share some of your challenges you faced during the pandemic and how you know the cannabis-infused cooking helped you kind of cope through that period? I guess Do you think it did anyways.

Speaker 3:

I feel like it gave me a more time on my hands to find my passion and reflect on myself and what I was doing.

Speaker 1:

Interesting. What were you doing before this? I don't know.

Speaker 3:

My background is like strategy, consulting, finance, nice. I have a very typical traditional background, I guess you could say Very corporate. You know went to school, got a degree, you know went to do business because that's how you make money, right, like very traditional Asian parents want that shit. If you're not a doctor or a lawyer, you got to be in business or something like that. So that's my background and I think that a lot, because a lot of that has helped me be able to build and scale my content creation business.

Speaker 3:

I know I've learned a lot of other soft skills, technical skills, that have helped me with that. So thanks to that but yeah, back to the point is, during COVID you have a lot of free time and it's a really a lot of time to work on yourself and be like okay, what am I actually passionate about? Do I actually want to slave away in the corporate world or do I have extra time on my hands and maybe I can build a side business that I can eventually scale? So that was kind of like where cannabis came into that whole picture.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it really helped you kind of learn something about yourself too.

Speaker 3:

I guess right.

Speaker 1:

It's fun that we all had projects to kind of get us through that period. I remember I was doing real estate school. It was all online, so it was like not nearly as exciting as cannabis content creation.

Speaker 3:

Did you finish the? I did, I graduated. Are you realtor now? I am. I'm a licensed realtor in Ontario.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay, I'll come to you. I love it. I love it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, please, I'd love to chat anytime. It definitely helped get me through. Just, you know a lot of people I knew that didn't have something like that or didn't have something to come in. Just get them up and keep them motivated and be like. I'm still working towards something, or I'm getting up and bettering myself and figuring out what I want to do you know how did your parents react when you were like yeah, I'm leaving my corporate job for.

Speaker 3:

Okay, you guys ready for this Content creation?

Speaker 2:

and it's weed no they don't know.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes. Wow, okay, you still think you're at your corporate job yeah. Damn Wow okay. I'm sick though, if she still plays the bell, she's good.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'll eventually tell them when. If they find out, I'll tell them.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Being Asian is very hard Like, especially when your parents are like immigrants and like hardcore immigrants. They don't understand.

Speaker 3:

Every type of drug is bad, Alcohol is bad, staying out late is bad, eating deep fried food is bad, Like literally everything is bad, you know. Like that's just like, and they're at the age where it's very hard to change their minds and I rather just maintain a relationship with them rather than cause them anxiety or being worried about me or being stressed, and like if they find out then I'll be like you know what I'm making a living off this, but, like, for now I don't feel the need to explain to them.

Speaker 1:

It's not necessary. Yeah, yeah, you still have a healthy relationship with them. What about the knowing?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Speaker 1:

I think so. Yeah, good for you. Yeah, I mean, that's crazy though, um such a different contrast to like Charlie and I share a very like closer relationship with the plan with our mom, like we share it openly with her.

Speaker 3:

So I love that. I'm jealous yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I guess like, um, we bond over it. So I find, yeah, that is interesting to chat with you, Just a difference in culture.

Speaker 3:

I should just get my mom high.

Speaker 1:

I think I'm just gonna make her like a cannabis tea Like a tea Two milligrams yeah.

Speaker 3:

Or like um like a cannabis infused chili oil noodle. So it's like a little Asian, you know, and then she'll be like, oh, it's so good, and then she just gets a little gigolo.

Speaker 1:

A little gigolo. A great time with you, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I thought about that. Cause she's crazy anxiety. Okay, she could benefit from a cannabis edible once in a while. And I don't know, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

We'll see. I'll give you guys posted it One day. Maybe they'll come around and be ready for that. But that's, that's cool, that's wild. Um, I do appreciate that, though you also mentioned something there. Um, they don't like alcohol. You've kind of been big on that, as far as I know, about being like hey, you know, less alcohol is a good thing. I think we use a great gateway to that. Um, do you kind of see weed as like the next I don't know transformation of the anti-alcohol movement?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, how? How I think about this topic of alcohol versus cannabis. It's not about switching one for the other, because they're very different.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 3:

I think we need to bring it back that, like cannabis can also be medical and a lot of people don't think like alcohol is not medical. Yeah, is that my isopropyl alcohol when you clean your wounds, right? So I think there's that distinct and I think some people are like, oh, you're just switching from alcohol to weed and that's just like another drop, whatever, right? So I kind of want to just call up that distinction. Um I my relationship with alcohol. I used to drink a fuck ton, like a lot. Like I said, party Thursday, friday, saturday, sunday.

Speaker 1:

Damn.

Speaker 3:

Like you know, I went to a party university. You know it's just like Toronto. Culture is also like that too, like it's a very big ongoing oh drinking, yeah, and um, uh, three, four years ago I was like this is just not serving me, like I would be hungover, I wouldn't be able to work out, my skin wasn't good, I didn't feel good about my body. I just was waking up, lethargic, just like everything was like negative about drinking alcohol for me personally. Right, obviously, some people have a great relationship. They have one cocktail, they vibe out with their friends. It's amazing, um, but I just felt that it wasn't serving me anymore.

Speaker 3:

Um, whereas with cannabis it was making a positive impact on my life. Right, there was no negative repercussions from consuming. I wasn't hurting anybody, I wasn't hurting myself, I wasn't hurting anything. I was improving my lifestyle. I was sleeping earlier, I didn't have insomnia anymore. I'd be able to wake up at 5am and go lift weights. Um, I'd be able to have post-workout recovery on my muscles. Like it was just all these positive benefits and like, if something is working for you and good, you know, maybe pause and be like, oh, maybe there's a reason why this is working for me, right, obviously, it's different for everyone. Some people can't do cannabis, and that's totally okay. It's because everybody's body is different, right, um so?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah. I went about three months, even not smoking weed. It's like anything, it's. You just got to find what the balance is right, or Everything that likes balance Right.

Speaker 3:

Like even with like junk food, like not going to eat McDonald's every day, right, but once in a while it's okay. It's about balance, right?

Speaker 1:

So Enjoy it, don't worry about it as long as it's not yeah. Oh, I guess we can talk about the actual I did. Our friend Walker um did a collaboration. We had a Woody Nelson on a couple of episodes a day. There is a. It's a two gram pre-roll. This is the first um hash holder market in Canada. I know they're pretty popular in like um, the U S and stuff like that. Have you ever had a hash?

Speaker 3:

When they put the hash in a hole.

Speaker 1:

The rosin in yeah. The rosin goes is like. Like is a big cylinder in the center of the joint. Okay, so it's been hand hand rolled with a glass tip. There's one and a half grams of flour and half a gram of librazine in this thing.

Speaker 3:

Oh, wow.

Yeah.

We're going to have to give it a shot.

We won't wait until the third segment, though, because I feel like we should get through the second one.

We also are going to do a quick update. We actually had our soil to oil finally completed, so the flour we made we gave to Bam from Carmel. He's their hash maker and we made this temple ball. I guess that's what it says.

Oh, I saw him post a video the other day of him making stuff. I was like this process is long as shit, Isn't? That crazy Like is he like a three-day?

Speaker 1:

process. Oh, my goodness, we got it right in our hash. So there you go. Oh yeah, I saw that video. Yeah, there you go. So he made a bubble hash and then we pressed it together and that's our temple ball that we're aging.

So you make a lot of the butter and stuff from your infusions like from scratch.

Speaker 3:

I make all of it. Yeah, Sometimes I like doing hash infused butter.

A little different. Yeah, it's really nice yeah, I was thinking about that with that.

Yeah, banana bread, because it's foolproof. You can bake it for as long as you want and it'll still be good, or you can.

Obviously, cannabis in itself is already such a taboo topic, so people obviously just hate on cannabis consumers in general, without even knowing if this person is for medical or record, and then there's obviously going to be, you know, hate comments or like creepy people, obviously. But I get a lot of actually like racist comments as well.

It's just like so whack. It's like why is racism still a thing? Like it's literally just so whack of like your anyways.

Racist is one of those things that I don't understand because it just doesn't make sense to me. But unfortunately I have to deal with that. And yeah, yeah, I got this like super nasty message I would say like maybe a lot end of last year or something like that Um, where it was basically saying something like um, I don't even know what I posted on myself, but they probably just responded to like one of my stories and they were like um, get your, you and your Chinese colleagues out of this industry, you fucking cunt. And then some other word Wow and um. I think that was like the first comment I ever got. That was like oh shit, that's actually really rude. Like I was like cause normally I like see hate comments.

I'm like whatever, block the lead, whatever. But this one was like kind of shook me off guard, because I guess the fact that like they said Chinese and they were like really directing it to me and like I don't know, no one really ever asked like talks about my race on my platform. So I'm like why does it matter? Like what I am, you know what I mean.

Drogatory towards being a woman too, at the seaward. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Yeah, I mean, I think it's kind of like the way you were already in cannabis. It's already such, like you know, like a tough industry. We cannabis people should just stick together, Like you know, and I think the amount of positive messages that I got from showing the negative was kind of nice to see that like. Okay though, there's still good people in this world, there's just this one fucking idiot far away that yeah, yeah, that's good to hear.

Yeah, I like to think that there's less and less, but then you have like these elections that happen and you're like, oh my God, but I don't know, I don't know, I've never heard of that. That just has no stand for anything that we believe in. It's just so weird and weed, which I think connects people and almost is like a little love potion in a way.

Yeah, I mean, sometimes people are very dogmatic too in the weed world you know, like, for example, like, if you know, I feel like there's like an unspoken word of those people who are like stoners. It's like you just respect each other in a way. It's like a quiet way. It's like I respect you. It's like because you smoke weed and you just kind of have that instant bond. But sometimes I see a lot of hate within the cannabis community themselves. Like, like, if I post a flower or or or joint or something and I'm smoking it, someone will comment and be like, oh, that's not premium flower. Or like, criticizing the thought oh, you only do pre-rolls. Like people who are hating it within weed. It's like what? Like we're on the same team. Why are we fighting?

Like that's it, no, and it's so weird.

Speaker 2:

It's bad juju.

I always said that and that's why we created Cosmic. Charlie is the way that we did, because we always felt that weed is like a safe space safe space for everybody and it's not you to judge somebody else for how they want to consume we all consume it, but there's a lot of judgment of how people consume it, there is and it's like oh, your dose is so little.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's all you smoke. It's like what. I have my own personal toilet. Like preferences, like why can't we all just like have a different relationship each with with cannabis? It doesn't have to be like a one size fits.

Speaker 1:

It shouldn't be a one size fits all and you should have fun, and I do anyways, and that's why I enjoy this job and I know Charlie does too. He's like just teaching people and like, and doing it in a way that doesn't have to be like talking down to them and like oh, you don't know how to dab, you don't know that you need to adapt to, and all of these things, and you know it's like that doesn't get anybody High and mighty yeah.

Right, I think that, like you said it, just, it doesn't really have a place in the future of cannabis. Anyways, I think it's an old mentality. Yeah, I guess.

But there's also a lot of people who are really loving and, like I've had, some people have been following me since like day one when I was like making those like video, like first round of videos. When I look at products. Yeah, I definitely go to the edibles and drink section first.

I'm not gonna line. I probably go to the fridge first, okay, and then Look at that, probably pick out one or two drinks. That's like the, the base order got it. Okay, then we go over to like the edibles. I'm more on the soft chew side. Okay, I'll be honest, I don't know. I don't really like the chocolate stuff that much. I think I just rather eat real chocolate or like actual confectionary chocolate less popular?

Yeah, they are yeah, I like specialty snacks, sometimes like once in a while, like those are cool, but I will. I'll never buy it again because it's not like I. Really enjoy the holiday. We have these roasted pecans.

This $20 olive oil like and it just makes it so much easier. Just do it at home, yeah, like it doesn't make any sense. We actually recently we're talking about a- salad dressing the salad dressing bottle of wine.

I know that you you keep like an association more towards like healthier things. What do you say in your infusions?

Speaker 3:

I try to. I guess healthy is a complicated word but like I like to make it simple and like, just like no filler ingredients, I like no unnecessary Ingredients. That's kind of how I make my recipes, but then also thinking like, what would an average person have at home that they don't need to go to the grocery store for, let's say?

Speaker 1:

let me rephrase that. I'm gonna say like let's process, no, I guess that's kind of more like.

Speaker 3:

Like simple, natural, wholesome ingredients. Like I want to know what's going to my body and what's it gonna do.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, bam nailed it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

When you're like having friends over something, so you're obviously not like reaching for a bottle of wine. Do you like to make like recipes and your friends like, yeah, let's try some. Like.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I'm definitely like the weed mama, because a lot of my friends aren't daily consumers. So they're like once in a blue moon people and they're like, oh my god, we got so much power coming your place because you guys so ripped, because they don't really do it, and then some of them actually started consuming. It's kind of one's gonna bad, but like some of it. Yeah, but they were like, oh, I really like it, just like a 2.5 milligram edible and I have like a night to myself and I'm like, oh yeah, like it's different, right, she's like yeah, it's just really fun hearing about non cannabis daily users experiences.

Speaker 3:

And when they have good, because you're kind of like yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, those early times, yeah, it's like more introverted then yeah, but I do like Like at my last.

Speaker 3:

I hosted something for for my friends. Like over the holidays, I still have an alcohol section for them so that they can enjoy, but then I'll also have cannabis infused like mocktails Joins, obviously. I really I like the mock and then the student glass that I bring that and it's like Really cool.

Speaker 1:

I know you're wrote like smashing down the stigma and all that stuff. What are your thoughts on your current the current state of the cannabis legalization around the world?

Speaker 3:

Oh god, oh, I heard, germany is legalizing April.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I think so it's already medical there. I know that we export a lot there.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think they're one of the biggest.

Speaker 2:

Importers of Canadian cannabis. I believe, yeah, we chop lead to Germany, yeah, yeah we do, and then I think, so Thailand.

Speaker 3:

Apparently they're trying to go backwards and Unreliq D. Reverse the legalization.

Speaker 1:

Wow, which is crazy, yeah, because I heard it's been a really good influx of like tourism for them.

Speaker 2:

That's why you gotta go check it out before they, I'm literally gonna be there in two weeks yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah so excited because if they'd go for their verse it. Yeah, like get there, get some content.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it's pretty good. All right, I think it's hit or miss the co. I guess you're gonna let us know.

I feel like it's like one of those places where you have to like you know, you know Kind of thing like you probably have to get the fire, so we'll see and I feel like you do a lot of Canada tourism.

Yes and no. I feel like I kind of look at like which countries have I not been to on the map? And then, if they just so happen to be legalized and I'm like, yes, you are number one choice or if there's somewhere you can do a little like layover right for a couple days On the way.

I feel like it's just also. I want to see how their culture is and how it's different than ours. Like I love comparing, like, like, even just like the US, for example, like seeing the.

Yeah, I was recently in Chicago and just comparing their retail experience was sort of like like it's so bad. It's not like it was just like very stale and it was. I went to like a couple. I guess you would say like chain style Spensaries there, and it was just very like okay, you stand here, now Go look at this product here.

Speaker 3:

Okay, okay, goodbye like checking IDs of the door and you feel like you're kind of going into some weird, yeah, and then you can't most stores are janky, yeah, and then it was just like and I could only order through the bartender on the iPad, but I can't look at the product myself. So then we're hovering together, looking over the shoulder. I was like this is awkward. I'm like can I see the product elsewhere? He's like nope, just here. And I'm like okay, and we're like this close.

So they force you to look at a tablet, but you're not allowed to look at products around.

Speaker 3:

So everything displayed, so in order to get the whole Look at it no. And then he wouldn't let me get the whole the iPad in my own hands either. So I was like, okay, that's awkward.

But then this other shop had a kiosk which was, which was nice. Yeah, we can't have that either oh that's not allowed here. Right, kiosk check out.

Not in this current. Like the setup costs and the return and the margins are not, it's not worth the while.

It would be out of passion, but I Feel like obviously have a very strong marketing platform and a community platform, so that would help. But I think just overall like not any time soon.

Yeah, you need the taxes to come down.

Speaker 3:

Yeah it's just changes yeah um yeah that makes sense, yeah, and like less restrictions on like packaging and stuff, like I wanted to make people know that that's the can of an Easter bottle, for example. If I was to make a beverage, you know it would be a certain shape or like a style, like what were some of the favorite, like edible packages that you saw in the states recent trip.

None of them are like that nice, like there was the Kiva ones I got. Yeah, keep us like they were in Canada, but they're only still there.

I think I've seen it. I have like the really nice font and the different. I think I saw your story.

Yeah, I can altos and then, but it was cantaloupe a honey or honey. Illinois oh yeah, Chicago, yeah they have a 30% tax on cannabis and the higher the THC, the higher the percentage was similar.

Yeah, I think they get tax higher here, but that still sucks. I know everything's in American dollars.

You saw a collaboration with some other contact creators.

Yes, I guess in everybody's. I haven't seen them yet. Okay, you sure they're funny, they're like meme dudes. So literally I knew that they were from Chicago and I was like hey, they're pretty much a really big following, like. They're, like, literally known for like you know memes and stuff. And then, yeah, I was like, hey, let's film some like meme content, because it's like kind of me branching into another Sector that people don't normally see me doing is like meme content.

I thought it was fun.

It was a little stepping kind of your comfort zone of that yeah and then we literally like I met these guys the first time strangers, content creators, okay, two guys and me and it was a fucking blast. They were such fucking dope dudes. We were like literally we were puffing on the puff co. We also took me to eat Chicago pizza afterwards. We literally filmed content for like five hours on a Friday night. We finished at 10 pm. We're like, oh my god, we've got to eat.

Like and that was more fun, yeah, but it's having fun, so it was really good.

Speaker 3:

That's amazing yeah we did like little skits and stuff. Like doing meme stuff is fun, but it's like kind of awkward, but then it's really fun to do.

Yeah, I guess it's always. Does that leave a faith? You'd only ever like chatted with these people, like online, and then you meet them in person and it's so nice when, like it just works out. I think that's the best to do. Good collabs like that.

I definitely do want to do more, just like finding the right people. I will be doing something in May when I go down to LA. There's a huge like LA cannabis food Culture scene there, so hopefully I can do some work there as well.

Yeah, and they have a lot of cannabis lounges and things like that. They have like a like a creator community. I guess that like do cannabis infused stuff, so yeah, like establishments, like they have some.

Like now you're doing this full-time and I like is there like stuff in the cannabis industry You'd like to see less of? And like how do you think we move this thing forward?

less red tape everyone around, I would say across, like Brands, like for consumers, for retailers, just less red tape overall to like advance the industry. Another one that I'm starting to run into is cannabis and banking in Canada. The fact that none of the big holy fuck like you're literally a bank You're literally a Canadian bank where cannabis is legalized federally and you're not supporting some businesses because they are related to License tax-paying cannabis brands.

I well? Yeah, I definitely do, because I get to do things that I like and it's for my own future equity. I guess you could say so. Building on myself and, I guess, making an investment in myself, that's kind of what it feels like being my own boss and be my own content creator. But obviously you know, everything is dependent on yourself. You can only rely on yourself and if things don't work out it's because of you, or if things do work out because of you. So it's like a lot ownership and I love that you work your ass off Like let's be honest, like I feel like.

And I mean that just compliment to you. But I know that, like my mom was a teacher, and a lot of people are like I want to be famous on Instagram. I want to, you know, create a following, I want to be an influencer, all these things, and they don't realize how much work it is, I feel yeah, it's not just like the filming, it's not even just the editing.

It's like all the business admin, legal contracting, bookkeeping, pitching you have to do it All.

right, you do it all. Yeah, branding your website.

Speaker 3:

SEO, all of that like. That's like a reaching out doing outreach like you did, you know. Yeah, sorry, it's like almost like your own, like your own little corporation. You know you have your your own HR, your own Marketing, your own finance, like you do at all.

It would Somehow, people would start getting their account status and stuff checked. It was weird. So I feel like there's some type of correlation there, right? Maybe they've run, I don't know.

Do you think there was something that you did, differently though to like? I don't know, because I feel like you figured out the Algorithm like well I feel like it's not really the algorithm.

I'd say it's just like I pivoted a lot of my content as well, like, okay, this past year, how I really grew was, I Would say, doing content that was much more educational and actually less recipes.

Interesting, yeah, I would say that was actually what led to my growth this year, because in the past I would only just do recipe content and I feel like For SEO wise people are not necessarily searching cannabis infused recipes yet I feel like that's very far in the future, a little bit right. Like, not everyone is, that's not the norm, cannabis infused recipes.

So when getting out of the studio, kind of thing.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and then so this past year, I started filming more educational content. So like more like cannabis tips, or like how to Protect your lungs when you're consuming cannabis and why you should use a hemp wick, or like this is what the you know endokinabinoid system is, we're like posting more educational content that's actually very highly searchable. Now, that really helped me with my growth, and obviously Instagram and TikTok are all. Seos like Bunget, like engines, right so yeah, cool, that's what I thought.

it would be the opposite, to be honest, that's very cool.

Speaker 3:

Like going more viral on recipe videos. Yeah, yeah, no, I just feel like the guys or sorry, the people who do cannabis infused recipe content right now I see a lot of them are Popular because they're smoking and then just cooking food have you seen those videos?

Speaker 3:

Okay, yeah, yeah, so they're not infusing the food, necessarily, but they're smoking and then they're like Cooking talking about watching some of them aren't even talking, some of them are just like music and you just, you're just watching this guy, or gal smoke weed and then switch by Chopping ingredients and putting all that cool way.

Yeah, you see them right? Yeah?

Speaker 3:

I personally don't watch that stop, but it's like pretty cool how there's a community just around that definitely.

You know, it's amazing. I Just really hope that I guess we get less stigmatized and we can talk about it like I feel like it's really hard for us to do anything on our higher-order platform.

It's. It's a lot. So I have to like time block when I respond to messages. Otherwise I'm on Instagram too much. I actually try to lower my Instagram usage. That makes sense and I really just like in the morning from like 8, 30 or till 9 I'll just do like Responding to the community comments and stuff like that DMs. I've been voice-noting people now like random people who ask me questions. I just like voice know cuz way easier. Nice, and my thumbs have been hurting. I feel like I've been on my phone.

I do. I do a personal to, though, like if they're actually a member your community and stuff. There's nothing personal getting a voice note from you.

Speaker 3:

They like that, but it's easier for me because I actually prefer talking to people than typing save the thumbs. Yeah, yeah, cuz I feel like context gets lost a lot in text. Like you could read a text and like definitely yeah. Ever, get to fight with your partner because of a text, of the tone, and it was.

Okay just kind of like this right now right, we have so much more contacts like you know, we, you guys, people, the audience has time to like understand our personalities, which can also kind of connect you more with the audience. So it walks through the whole cannabis infusion process and like multiple different Techniques, whether you have a machine or you don't, there's a lot of different techniques.
